The project director could have designed a more successful project if he had consulted the community first. Perhaps, washing clothes more conveniently was not their top priority. Perhaps he could have designed a washing place where the women could still feel “together” and able to talk openly.
*A sustainable project must be designed around the needs of the community. The community will consider its social, political, environmental and economic circumstances so that the project has a higher probability of success.
